Decorated Bass Viol with single purfling, string length 66cms; made by Peter Gresswell, luthier, Charlton Kings Gloucestershire in 1980.

£1,100. Can be viewed via Jenny Tribe (jenny_tribe@hotmail.com) in Cheltenham.

Note from Jenny: it has neither case nor bow, thus the low price. It seems a good resonant instrument though needs new G and D strings to show it at its best. Peter is a well respected maker of violins and ‘cellos locally and is one of two viols he made. A really promising instrument.

My husband, luthier Colin Wills, died earlier this year. There is one remaining Baroque violin available for sale.

You can see this instrument in detail on Colin’s website: www.colinwills.com.

If you are interested in purchasing this instrument please contact me directly – rather than through the website.

I’m thinking along the lines of groups such as Laberintos Ingeniosos, but am open to any creative projects that require interesting/unusual percussion.  Please contact Dean at dgpayne2003@yahoo.com.
