Online via Zoom

7.30 pm

The second of four Zoom events staged by the Irish Recorder and Viol Course to celebrate over 50 years of existence and leading up to the course itself in August 2022. First, to mark the 450th anniversary of his birth, Pamela Flanagan will give a talk called “These distracted times: a survey of the life and works of Thomas Tomkins (1572-1656) and the society in which he lived”. Then Philip Thorby will lead a practical session on how and when to decorate 16th century music with divisions, drawing on his idol (alter-ego?) Sylvestro di Ganassi dal Fontego. For details of the programme and how to join in please go to the IRVC website (link below).
