Travels with my Lute: A musical voyage around Renaissance Europe

An afternoon recital of lute music from the sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries, taking the listener on a colourful tour of Italy, Germany, France, Spain and England, exploring their various musical cultures and traditions. The programme ranges from courtly dances and arrangements of popular songs to absorbingly intricate fantasias and the exquisite musical meditations of England's master lutenist, John Dowland.
Lynda Sayce is one of the UK's foremost lutenists, with over 100 recordings to her name, and an international reputation. She plays with many leading early music ensembles, at the Globe theatre, with orchestras including the Berlin Philharmonic, and opera companies including English and Welsh National Opera, and Opera North.
