Seicento: Labyrinth of Shade and Light
The Church Of St Lawrence, The Square, Winchester
Hungarian-born baroque violinist Rudolf Balázs has paired with Elizabeth Kenny (Director of Performance at the University of Oxford, and professor of Lute at the Royal Academy of Music) , one of Europe's leading lute players, to present an evening of Italian compositions played by one violin in the early baroque manner accompanied by the theorbo. Throughout the concert, Rudolf Balázs and Elizabeth Kenny will introduce us to their period instruments.
The concert "Seicento: Labyrinth of Shade and Light" offers a journey of discovery into the metaphysical connection between the human voice and stringed instruments of the 17th century in Italy.
